Scratching the Disney Itch When You Can’t Visit the Parks

How do you satisfy that longing for Disney when you can’t visit the parks?  I like to read the Kingdom Keepers series by Ridley Pearson.  You mean to say you haven’t read them yet?  Oh….you have got to pick these up.  So far there are 5 books in the series, starting with Disney After Dark.

The series revolves around 5 teens that are DHI (Disney Host Interactive or Daylight Hologram Imaging) for Disney Parks.  These holograms that the teens modeled for serve as guides for visitors to the parks.  But something a little more mysterious is happening to the teens.  When they fall asleep at night they find that they are “crossing over” in their DHI forms at the parks.  Is it a dream?  The teens don’t think so, especially when they encounter Wayne, an Imagineer, who tasks them with protecting the parks.  It seems that the Disney Villains are trying to take over the parks and perhaps the world beyond them.    Sit back and prepare for adventure as the teens do battle with characters from the rides that come alive at night.  How would you handle the dolls from It’s a Small World….or the Pirates of the Caribbean?

I love these books because they are steeped in Disney facts and magic.  Reading Pearson’s description of events and scenery really places you at the park where the action takes place.  You even get descriptions of behind the scenes places.  I’ve got to say, it’s really the next best thing to being in the parks.  Check out the first book and let us know what you think!
