Brad Bird Has Begun Writing ‘Incredibles 2′
More than a year after the sequel was announced, “The Incredibles 2″ is finally chugging along. Writer-director Brad Bird, who was also behind Pixar’s “Ratatouille,” told NPR that the sequel is “percolating.” “I’m just staring to write it, so we’ll see what happens,” he said. Disney CEO Bob Iger told investors at the company’s shareholders meeting in March of 2014 that Pixar was planning a sequel to “The Incredibles,” as well as a third installment of its “Cars” franchise. “The Incredibles” was released in late 2004 and went on to gross $631.4 million worldwide. Disney Planning Movie Based on ‘It’s a Small World’
Disney is ramping up a movie version of its venerable “It’s a Small World” theme park ride with Jon Turteltaub directing. Jared Stern is writing the script and will produce with Turteltaub and “The Lego Movie” producer Dan Lin. The ride was created by WED Enterprises and debuted at the New York World’s Fair in 1964. It was rebuilt after the fair, installed in Disneyland and now operates as a boat ride in five Disney parks. “It’s a Small World” features over 300 audio-animatronic dolls from all over the world singing the upbeat title song, which promotes peace and understanding.
