Turner Lands Rights To Upcoming Disney Movies
Turner Broadcasting has bought the network television premiere rights to Walt Disney Studios’ yet-to-be-released films “Cinderella” and “The Jungle Book,” which Deadline.com notes shows the cable company continuing its “blockbuster movie acquisition deals.” The films “will be available to networks across Turner Broadcasting’s portfolio, including TBS, TNT and Cartoon Network, a little over two years after each film’s theatrical release,” the story notes. Disney May Use Drones In Theme Park Entertainment
Drones may be going to Disneyland. Though they may sound like they could exist only in Tomorrowland, Disney is working on ways to use drones in its entertainment productions. Disney DIS -0.02% applied for three UAV-related patents, indicating that drones could hold marionette or projection screens for nighttime entertainment. “The inventors recognized that presently there are no mechanisms for creating very large aerial displays such as a display that is reusable/repeatable, dynamic, and interactive,” the patent states. To address that need, Disney’s R&D department is working to create a multi-drone aerial display system and a ground control station that could choreograph repeatable movements.
