Top 6 Pig-Out Places at Walt Disney World

Not only is Walt Disney World an amazing place for thrill rides, family entertainment, impeccable service, and magical experiences…it’s a GREAT place to eat!  And there are some outstanding places to just  grab a quick snack or have the fine dining experience of a lifetime, but sometimes, you just want to PIG OUT!  So we thought that we would compile 6 of our favorite pig out spots around Walt Disney World Resort!

These are in order of OUR favorites and we included the times we have enjoy them.  Many of these restaurants serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but we want to notate the meals we have enjoyed.  So let’s dig right in…

6.  Hollywood & Vine (Dinner)

Hollywood and Vine is located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios sitting on the shore of Echo Lake.  Paying tribute to the Golden Age of Tinseltown, the restaurant proudly displays, in neon, across the entrance that this is the “Cafeteria to the Stars.”  It’s Art Deco style is reminiscent of the Golden Age of Hollywood and serves traditional American Cuisine.  During breakfast and lunch there are characters from Disney Junior available to meet and grab a picture with!  Breakfast and lunch pricing is $15.99-35.99 while dinner pricing is $36.99-59.99.  You can also book a Fantasmic! Dining Package with special reserved seating for dinner and the show.  Hollywood and Vine is a great place to pig out with great theming and some of the friendliest Cast members serving their guests.

5.  Cape May Cafe (Breakfast/Dinner)

Located inside Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Cape May Cafe is a beach themed restaurant featuring breakfast and dinner.   If you eat Cape May’s breakfast buffet, you can meet Goofy, Donald, and Minnie Mouse and enjoy several traditional breakfast items, especially the Mickey-shaped waffles.  The service is exceptional and you cannot beat the Beach Club to spend a morning or evening before and after your meal.  We also wanted to pass along that we enjoyed Thanksgiving Dinner at Cape May last year which, was VERY enjoyable.  They served the usual Turkey Day items, plus an entire seafood menu as well!  It was a unique way to celebrate Thanksgiving (or ANY holiday for that matter) especially because you are only footsteps away from Epcot and Illuminations in the evening!  Cape May is also very affordable.  The price for breakfast and dinner buffet is $15.99-$35.99 per person, making it a great place to eat at an affordable price!

4.  Trails End Restaurant (Breakfast)

One of our favorite resorts is Fort Wilderness.  It’s natural beauty and relaxing atmosphere takes us away from our every day lives and transports us to a magical place and time when life was MUCH simpler.  But even frontier people had appetites…and had the Trails End Restaurant existed back then…it would have be a HUGE success!  Nestled off the shores of Bay Lake, Trails End is a rustic restaurant filled with animal heads and nick-nacks from yesteryear.  Trails End offers “American down-home cooking and hearty vittles” for both breakfast and dinner buffets, but during lunch they serve off a menu.  Breakfast offerings are  traditional items: eggs, sausage, bacon, and Mickey-shaped waffles while also offering grits,  gravy, and fresh fruit.  It’s a little bit of a trek back to the restaurant, but it is totally worth it.  You can also step in and look around Crockett’s Tavern, a local “watering hole” with several mementos from the Davy Crockett TV show and tributes to Davy Crockett himself, Fess Parker!  Breakfast will run you $15.99 to $35.99 per person.

3.  Biergarten Restaurant (Lunch/Dinner)

Put on your lederhosen and head on over to the Germany Pavilion inside Epcot’s World Showcase and get ready for a Bavarian buffet of EPIC proportions!   The Biergarten features an overwhelming array of sausages, wursts, and schnitzels that would make any German grandmother envious!  It also features several accompanying food items and a surprising desert bar that is as tasty as it is memorable.  You MUST experience the Biergarten at least ONCE in your life…and when you do…you’ll have to have again and again.  Outside of the awesome German band playing traditional drinking songs, the decor makes you feel like you are actually outside in a German garden on a cool Summer night.  You sit community style, meaning you WILL sit with people you have not ever met, but by the end of the first buffet run, you will have new best friends!  The Biergarten runs $15.99 to $35.99 and alcohol is not included.  And when you go, don’t forget to say “Ziggy-Zaggy, Ziggy-Zaggy Hoy, Hoy, Hoy, you’ll be glad you did!

2.  Liberty Tree Tavern (Dinner)

Take a trip back to colonial times at the Liberty Tree Tavern in Liberty Square at the Magic Kingdom.  The rustic decor and colonial artifacts immerse you into your experience and the food is equally as stellar.  Serving turkey, ham, and skirt steak (some of the best I have EVER enjoyed-John) as your mains, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy and mac & cheese round out your INCREDIBLE meal.  As you can imagine, The Tavern is very difficult to get into at Thanksgiving time and most of the Christmas holidays, but it’s worth it whenever you visit Magic Kingdom.  During lunch, there is a menu to order from, but it’s the dinner All-You-Care-to-Enjoy that keeps us coming back.   The Tavern costs between $15,99 to $35.99, and you DEFINITELY want to call ahead for reservations as soon as possible.  But you CAN sometimes walk up and get a seat…if you’re very lucky!!

1.  Ohana (Breakfast/Dinner)

And finally, we come to the grand daddy of them all:  Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Resort.  For many years, we had not had the blessing of visiting this amazing restaurant, but once we did…we have been back SEVERAL times.  We tried the dinner experience first and believe me when I say that it TRULY lived up to the hype.  Your experience begins with Welcome Bread when you are seated and continues with salad with citrus dressing.  By the time your pork fried dumplings, noodles, and veggies arrive you are well on your way to Hawaiian bliss.  And when your steak, shrimp, chicken and pork are brought to your table, there is only one thing your can say….Oh-hana!!  And it is at this time that your server brings THE most amazing desert to your table: bread pudding, served a la mode with banana caramel sauce. It…Is…AMAZING!  Ohana costs adults $32.99 and children 3-9 $15.99.

And for breakfast they up the awesome by having Lilo and Stitch and some of the Fab 5 come and spend time with you as you enjoy your breakfast. And on the day we went, Mickey Mouse dropped in!  It was magical!!  For breakfast or dinner, Ohana is one of the most unique, classic, and worthy restaurants on all of Disney property.

But these are just some of our favorites, we’d love to hear your thoughts on your favorite pig out spots at Walt Disney World!

      • Salvatore

The other place that comes to mind is the Tusker House in Aninal Kingdom, correct me if im wrong (I might have gotten the name mixed up with another restaurant LOL) but they had a great all you can eat buffett (the restaurant in Africa at Animal Kingdom). Anyway, i loved that place! The food was good and endless to say the less. Yea that sounds perfect, me and the kids would enjoy having friends with us at Ohana and pig out no doubt! When we go there we always get the Magic Your Way Package with Dinning, It takes 2 table service credits at Ohana but I know it will be worth it! So yeah, When it gets within the 180 days, I will make reservations for 4 on Feb sound good..?

We’ve not eaten there yet either…we don’t have kids yet and I’m not THAT into Princess…I love them all, but I’m more of the other characters… But if the food is good, I am DOWN with it… Sid and I should head over there one day and DEFINITELY check it out.

What a fantastic list! I don’t know how I would be able to choose just one, you did a great job of narrowing the restaurants down.

I do have to admit, I’m a huge fan of Liberty Tree Tavern, so I was happy to see this on the list!

Thanks – we tried to use locations from around Disney Property. We almost had a list of ONLY Epcot and Epcot Resorts…but we figured it out. Honestly though…is there anything better than the ice cream at Liberty Tree melting on the apple crisp?? It’s UNbelievable!!! Thank you so much for spending some time with us and dropping us a line! See you real soon!
