I have to agree with PH John, I was also disappointed at this announcement. As someone who did not like the movie (special effects aside) is there really that big of a fan base to hold up a whole land? It will be in Disney style so it will be done well and probably cool but we didn’t like the message of the movie. I would have liked to see them do something with Hollywood Studios or I really like the Star Wars idea or why not expand Dino Land. I just don’t see Avatar as Disney material, it just wasn’t a family movie. Walt always took pride in being able to have the family enjoy everything together. I am just really disappointed in the theming choice.

I sort of get what you are saying but I think people are looking to much at the Avatar movie instead of looking at what can and will be done with the material. Its all about what they do with it, rather then how good avatar the movie was and how much the other new movies do. I believe no doubt that Disney will do the best with it I have faith

I have faith as well, but if a franchise is unsuccessful to begin with…it will make the draw harder for the crowds… I have no doubt that the Disney Imagineers and Cameron creative teams will do amazing work…it’s more of a question of the product they are emulating.
