Expedition Everest 5 Year Anniversary Event
Disney has announced a very special event for Passholders (people who are current Seasonal, Annual, or Premier Disney Passholders). They are invited to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Expedition Everest by riding the attraction after Disney’s Animal Kingdom park closes, because, as Disney says, “even fierce beasts from cold climates deserve an anniversary event.” This comes at a very interesting time in the life of this attraction, the Yeti (the protector of the Forbidden Mountain) has had innumerable mechanical issues. I have been a Disney traditionalist my whole life. I love the classic Disney cartoon shorts and feature animations. We all know that Walt loved progress and technology, and was frustrated many times because his ideas were beyond the tech science of the day. But as advanced as CG gets, which allows animated toons and movies to jump from the screen, almost as real-live characters, nothing can replace the simple, yet elegant cartoons of the early era. The History of Disney’s Fast Pass-Should it remain free?…
It’s been quite a long spell since my last article, the Holiday season of Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas has taken their toll of my time, and the Honey-Do list is larger than the national debt, but its good to be back at my desk. However, this is the first time in my over 17 years of covering Disney that I totally disagree with my beloved Walt Disney Company.
