Parkhopper Sid and I had the opportunity to visit the brand new AbracadaBar recently and tried a couple concoctions.  It was a very unique and mystical visit and we enjoyed ourselves very much!

As the story goes, this little lounge was a former stomping ground for the famous magicians, boardwalk illusionists, and lovely magician’s assistants of the Golden Age. After a show, prestidigitators would gather to “conjure” up new cocktails, swap magic tips and tricks, and stay up all night attempting to “out-charm” each other with their extraordinary illusions.

According to Disney BoardWalk lore, it was on just such an evening that every single magician in the lounge vanished into thin air, and was never seen again …

All around the room you can find promotional posters and props from the magicians who disappeared.

When you visit AbracadaBar, keep your eyes on these posters.  They have a tendency to mystically change.

We loved the menu design, a magic trick in and of itself.  It, along with all the large and small details in the entire lounge, we phenomenal.  Disney Imagineers outdid themselves with story, theming, and design!

The cocktails (concoctions) are interesting and are very tasty.  When we visited, we tried the Collins Double (a Gin-based drink similar to a Tom Collins) and an Elixir 13 (Lucid absinthe and water).  Both were good and both left us feeling a little “enchanted.”

Overall, we enjoyed our visit to the AbracadaBar.  The bar opens around 4:00 pm and seating is very limited.  Located between the Flying Fish and Trattoria al Forno, this lounge will certainly always be hoping with excitement.

When you visit Walt Disney World, make sure you save some time to visit the fantastic AbracadaBar – you will be glad that you did!

Have you visited the AbracadaBar?  What did you think?
