One Reason I Fell in Love with Walt Disney World
This is a picture of a fire hydrant the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. And it DEFINES why I fell in love with Walt Disney World. Because what some people see as a plain old fire hydrant, I see Disney theming and magic.
Now…did Disney PLAN all this? Doubtful. but like our good friend Steve Barret, the Hidden Mickey Guy says, if it looks like a Mickey to you… then it’s probably a Mickey. Well, it LOOKS like Disney went the extra mile and made something as mundane as a fire hydrant can be as magical as any castle in any park.
One reason I fell in love with Walt Disney World because the Disney Imagineers took the time to add so many little details that you can never see them all. And even if you could see them all, they change.
There is such a depth of detail in the rides, the cue lines, the costumes, the resorts, the restaurants, it goes on and one. It helps me break out of my day-to-day life and truly enter a world of magic and marvel.
And it reminds me of the beauty and simplicity that life should be. Life should be as simple as looking at a beautiful castle or a ferry ride across a lake. We get so tightly wound, we forget to stop and enjoy life. Walt Disney World offers me so many opportunities to see beauty and creativity, it’s my own fault if I miss it.
