Could Disney’s Tsum Tsum Be The Next Toy Craze?
They’re soft, cuddly and adorable, and they’re making kids go gaga. No, the Beanie Babies from the ’90s haven’t made a comeback, but Disney’s new Tsum Tsum are inspiring a similar craze. Tsum Tsum are plush, bean-stuffed Disney characters inspired by a popular smartphone app of the same name in which players need to match similar icons to score points (think Candy Crush, or Bejeweled). Disney May Use Drones In Theme Park Entertainment
Drones may be going to Disneyland. Though they may sound like they could exist only in Tomorrowland, Disney is working on ways to use drones in its entertainment productions. Disney DIS -0.02% applied for three UAV-related patents, indicating that drones could hold marionette or projection screens for nighttime entertainment. “The inventors recognized that presently there are no mechanisms for creating very large aerial displays such as a display that is reusable/repeatable, dynamic, and interactive,” the patent states. To address that need, Disney’s R&D department is working to create a multi-drone aerial display system and a ground control station that could choreograph repeatable movements. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Begins Sept. 1 at Magic Kingdom
Halloween’s happiest haunts will reappear for 26 “spook-tacular” nights of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom. From Sept. 1 through Oct. 31, the after-hours special ticket event will immerse guests in the Halloween spirit.
