Pony Rides at Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Fort Wilderness Campground and Resort
One of the things I love about the Walt Disney World Resort is that there are activities outside the park that do not require park admission. With a surprise in mind, we recently visited Tri-Circle D Ranch at Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. We started the day at the Magic Kingdom, but we didn’t have to hike back to the parking lot to drive anywhere, we took a relaxing boat launch from the seven seas lagoon onto Bay Lake, past the Contemporary Resort and docked at the campgrounds! We love the Disney transportation systems! After arriving, Parkhopper Dave and I told junior Parkhopper Carly that we had a surprise for her. We…

Wilderness Back Trail Adventure Segway Tour
Looking for something different to do at Walt Disney World? Why not try one of the most unique experiences the World has to offer: the Wilderness Back Trail Adventure Segway Tour. This 2-hour tour takes you through the many trails of the Fort Wilderness Campground and then off-roading around Bay Lake. The tour starts with a brief video overview of how to use the Segways and all of the safety precautions you must take during the ride. You’re then taken out to a small practice course to get used to riding the Segway X2, which is the off-roading version with larger tires. You go through a series of cone courses…

Out of the Way Places at Walt Disney World: The Outer Rim
Located on the fourth floor Grand Canyon Concourse near Chef Mickey’s and the Contempo Cafe, the Outer Rim is a great place to grab a cocktail at the Contemporary Resort! It’s quiet and a little out of the way, which makes it a perfect place to relax after a long day in the parks. You can grab a beer, mixed drink, and some “light” snacks, but the best part of the Outer Rim is the amazing view of Bay Lake out the windows of the resort. The next time you are looking for a great “watering hole” in the Contemporary Resort, don’t forget the Outer Rim!
