Pixar Reportedly Removes Director Bob Peterson from The Good Dinosaur
Pixar head John Lasseter has reportedly taken director Bob Peterson off of the upcoming animated feature The Good Dinosaur, due to ongoing issues with the story. Peter Sohn has been attached as co-director since the project was announced last April, but it isn’t known if he is still involved.
According to MovieWeb, John Lasseter is reportedly trying to find a new director, in order for the animated film to meet its May 30, 2014 release date. Pixar revealed at the D23 Convention earlier this month that Lucas Neff, John Leguizamo,Frances McDormand, Bill Hader, Neil Patrick Harris and Judy Greer will lend their voices to the project.
The story, written by Bob Peterson and Enrico Casarosa, takes place in a world where dinosaurs never went extinct, and still roam freely about the Earth. The plot follows Arlo the Apatosaurus (Lucas Neff) and his family. Since Pixar was having issues with Bob Peterson’s script, it isn’t known if the studio plans on bringing in a new writer as well.
The Good Dinosaur comes to theaters May 30th, 2014 and stars Lucas Neff, John Leguizamo,Frances McDormand, Bill Hader, Neil Patrick Harris, Judy Greer. The film is directed by Peter Sohn.
