Disney Developing ‘Jack And Beanstalk’ Remake
Disney is developing a new take on the classic fairytale “Jack and Beanstalk”, based on the detailed outline prepared by “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan. Gilligan, who will serve as a producer along with Mark Johnson, and may also direct it, reported Deadline. Thomas Schnauz, who has won two Emmys writing for Gillian’s hit TV show and its spin-off “Better Call Saul”, is tapped to pen the script. The classic tale was most recently turned into a movie by Warner Bros in “Jack the Giant Slayer”. Chris Pine in talks to lead Disney’s coast guard drama ‘Finest Hours’ with ‘Million Dollar Arm’ director
Chris Pine is looking to reignite his career outside Star Trek and a new project with Disney could do the trick. He’s reportedly in talks to star in The Finest Hours, a period coast guard drama that could team him up with the director of Million Dollar Arm. Pine is very close to signing on. The Wrap reports that he has been in talks with the studio for some time, possibly even months. The plot centers on two oil tankers that get stuck in a New England storm and based on the non-fiction book by Casey Sherman and Michael J. Tougias.
