Disney’s ‘Big Hero 6’ Wins Weekend Over ‘Interstellar’
Disney’s “Big Hero 6” soared past Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar” at the box office this weekend, as both big-budget films had strong launches. According to studio estimates, the animated action comedy grossed $56.2 million in the U.S. and Canada, edging out Nolan’s space drama. “Interstellar” pulled in $52.2 million, which covers the film’s early limited release on Tuesday evening and wide release on Friday. If the early estimates hold up, for only the fourth time in history two films grossed more than $50 million apiece in their shared opening weekend, as had been projected. Read Full Story

Holiday Activities At Disneyland Park
At Disneyland Park, holiday traditions include the popular “A Christmas Fantasy” parade, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year by welcoming Anna and Elsa from “Frozen” into the cast. They are among the 100-plus parade performers, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, other Disney characters and Santa Claus, making a special appearance from the North Pole. Disney Donates $1 Million To Feeding America To Help Families Access More Nutritious Food
Feeding America, the nation’s leading hunger-relief organization, salutes Disney for its $1 million donation, the vast majority of which will provide grants to 60 food banks to sustain and expand their nutritious meal offerings distributed through afterschool child feeding programs. The donation will be announced on ABC’s “The Chew” today at 1:00 p.m. ET/12:00 p.m. CT/PT. The ABC lifestyle series will also feature a segment about Seattle-area’s Food Lifeline, a Feeding America member food bank that provides afterschool meals through a Kids Cafe program. John Lasseter Will Direct ‘Toy Story 4’ — BREAKING
The Pixar chief who changed the animation game with his innovative use of computer technology in 1995’s Toy Story will return to the directing chair to make a fourth movie about the adventures of Woody, Buzz, and the gang, Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger has announced.. The film is set to hit theaters in June 2017. “John created Toy Story and directed the first two films, and it’s great to have him back directing one of our most valuable properties,” Iger said, revealing the news in a quarterly earnings call for investors late Thursday afternoon.
