Chilling at Disney World – Ghirardelli Soda Fountain
Hello Parkhoppers. Are you still fighting the heat? Ready for another of my favorite cool treats on a hot day? Well, this one does not even require park admission. Just make your way to Downtown Disney and wander over to the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain. Attached to the fabulous Ghirardelli store is an ice cream shop that will make you think twice about ever getting a twisted cone at a stand shaped like a twisted cone again.
The menu is huge with everything from The Earthquake, a mammoth sundae that includes 8 scoops of ice cream, 8 toppings, plus bananas, whipped cream, chopped almonds, chocolate chips and cherries, to their World Famous Hot Fudge Sundae. I opted for a small mint chocolate chip sugar cone. Small is relative. It is smaller than my house, but not by much.
Hungry yet?? Trust me, this is a great break from shopping at Downtown Disney and it was just the pick-me-up I needed on a hot July afternoon.
Take a look at a few other options that were being served during my visit.
Have you ever visited the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain? What did you think? Do you have any recommendations for our next trip?

Since, when you first arrive at WDW, its probably late in the day or after dark, this is the perfect way to begin your vacation week. Drop everything at the hotel and head to Downtown Disney. Start at Ghirardelli.

You are absolutely right! Make sure you stroll around and then grab a cocktail and appetizer at one of the lakeside restaurants and soak in all the Disney you can and get ready for an amazing week!
