Apple Pay To Be Welcomed At Walt Disney World
Starting December 24, visitors to Orlando’s Walt Disney World can use Apple Pay to buy tickets, merchandise and other items. Apple iPhone 6 users planning a trip to Walt Disney World will be able to use their phones to pay for most items at the theme park. The company will roll out support for Apple Pay at its Orlando, Fla., resort starting Wednesday, website WDWMagic reported on Sunday. In October, Disney was listed as one of Apple Pay’s initial partners with the expectation that all of its retail locations would also support Apple’s mobile-payment system by Christmas. DirecTV, Disney Continue Carriage Negotiations
DirecTV, having reached a TV Everywhere accord today with Fox’s national networks, is continuing to work toward a comprehensive distribution deal with The Walt Disney Co. DirecTV and Disney’s 10-year distribution agreement ended Sept. 30. Under an extension, the parties, according to sources, have been continuing to negotiate a new pact that would not only include continued carriage of a suite of Disney networks and services, but encompass new digital rights that would also allow for TVE simulcasting for authenticated DirecTV subscribers. Disney Developing Family Adventure Film ‘Ed Terrestrial’
Disney is developing the family adventure movie Ed Terrestrial, hiring Michael Starrbury to rewrite the spec script. The studio bought the spec by Greg Erb and Jason Oremland. While the plot is being kept under wraps for now, sources say it is a family film involving an extraterrestrial being. Shrek director Andrew Adamson, whose recent work includes Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away, is producing. Louie Provost is overseeing the project for Disney. Read Full Story
