Team WDW Parkhoppers and the Yeti

As you may, or may not, know, almost all of the WDW Parkhopper crew are…or aspiring to be.. runners.  Many of us have run many of the Disney 5K events and even some of the longer runs!  But on May 7 the entire Parkhopper crew was out in full force taming the Expedition Everest Challenge!

The Challenge is a full 5K run plus obstacles and a scavenger hunt all throughout Disney’s Animal Kingdom!  It’s a lot of fun and we think that Team WDW Parkhoppers.com did VERY well.

John and Sarah ran as a team, followed by Dave and Michelle, and they were also joined by Tony and Jen Casler.  Those names might not be as familiar to loyal Parkhopper readers, but you should be very familiar with Tony’s contributions to this site: one of Tony’s many skills is as a photographer, and many of his images have been featured in posts and on several Wordless Wednesdays!

The cool night air made the 5k and obstacle portion of the evening much more enjoyable than last year’s October run and even though were all on the same team, we tried as hard as we could best each others run AND scavenger hunt times…  But for personal victories, many of the Parkhoppers had personal best run times as well as conquering some personal fears about certain rides, but that is a different blog post, for a later time.

All in all, a GREAT night was had by all and we are looking forward to our next race as well as next year’s Expedition Everest Challenge.  Who knows?  Maybe YOU will be a part of WDW Parkhoppers’ team as we take the challenge and conquer the elusive Yeti!
